Low Carb Shepherds Pie


Shepherds Pie originated from England and was made with ground lamb.This is a timeless classic in North America and is very common to use ground beef to make this dish but instead of those fluffy potatoes we are going to use fluffy cauliflower in its place.
Normally the meat is in a creamy gravy sauce but in this recipe I eliminated this step feeling there was amazing flavor without having to add more carbs.
This Low Carb Shepherds Pie is very simple to make and also so delicious. Its the perfect comfort food for your hungry family.

I would say it is a must to try, so lets get started and I will show you how to make it!

1 lb lean ground beef

1 small onion chopped

1 teaspoon herbamare or salt and pepper

1/4 cup chicken broth

1/2 beef bouillon cube

1 tablespoon Nutritional Food Yeast

1/2 frozen mixed vegetables

8 oz cream cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese ( your choice of cheese)

2 tablespoons butter

Shred a medium size cauliflower with a food processor.

In a skillet, melt butter, add cauliflower, sprinkle with herbamare.

Stir well, cover with a lid and let cook. Every once in a while stir until you can take your spatula and press

down on the cauliflower and the cauliflower presses like mashed potatoes.

Add cream cheese and mix well.

In a skillet add ground beef, chopped onion, herbamare. When ground beefs browned add broth, bouillon cube, yeast stir, add vegetables and mix well.

Add the meat mixture to the bottom of 11′ x 7′ oven ware dish.

Cover your meat mixture with cheese.

Spread the cauliflower mixture over the cheese.

Preheat oven 350 F bake for 20 – 25 minutes

Remove from oven and let set for 10 minutes that way it will come out in squares when serving.

Servings: 6

Yield: 4.9 net carbs
